The FIRST® Tech Challenge is a competition where schools go head to head at building a super cool robot, in a super fun and challenging environment. Each school is tasked with making a robot that can move around, pick up materials, and drop them in the lander from which the robots has the option to drop from. Each robot will pick up minerals that are scattered all over the playing field, including in craters, which any team can claim for themselves. Each mineral that is deposited, or any mini challenge that is completed, like hooking back on to the lander at the end of the match, sampling gold pieces, and parking in the crater, will award points, and the team with the most points wins! Each robot should be able to at least move around to some degree, and be able to pick up materials. Teams also have the option to make the robot able to lift itself up against the lander, and drop a team marker in a crater of choice. Our Facey Robotics Club is currently hard at work making the robot perfect, to win the competition!
